My Sacred Grove

Oh that I was an angel and had wings to fly
Oh that I was that hero and never be afraid to try
Or maybe be the one who always wins the race
Or maybe just be the one to have that look upon my face
Oh that my troubled heart could hold back its fears
Oh that I may reach out an touch someone with my tears
Or maybe just be the one to help and lend a hand
Or maybe be the reason for someone else to stand
Oh that I could be the one to make my father proud
Oh that I could find myself amongst a smaller crowd
Or maybe be the one who could never be deceived
Or maybe just be the one to give what I’ve received.
Oh that I could show God with all my heart
That with gifts of the spirit I will do my part
I will thank him humbly as I fall to my knees
So that I may dwell with him in heaven oh so high above the trees

Oh that I could stand on high ground and be on a mountain peak
Oh that my I will share more kindness in the words that I speak
Or maybe just be willing to always put him first
Or maybe just keep myself without hunger or thirst
Oh that my heart could always be filled with charity
Oh that I’d be quicker to live life with more clarity
Or maybe be the one who is always slow to anger
Or just be the one who avoids this danger
Oh that I could walk on water and not just on dry land
Oh that my faith would conquer my fear and put his power in my hands
Or maybe just be more submissive and rely on his certainty
Or maybe be continually worthy of his tender mercy
Oh that I could become the person that God sees in me
And I will kneel before him in pure humility
To acknowledge his power and his strength that spans eternity
So I can rise and triumph over all of my uncertainties
